Message from the Founders
Insurance isn’t glamorous. It doesn’t excite many people to talk about it – let alone sell it. The ones who love it are people like us, who see things differently. Who don’t settle for good enough and constantly develop relevant, successful solutions to our clients’ challenges. The kinds of people who’ve helped us build one of the largest, fastest-growing independent insurance brokerages in the country.
At Neace Lukens, we love what we do – putting you first is our business.
John F. Neace – Chairman
John Neace is a native of Greater Cincinnati. He holds an undergraduate degree from Northern Kentucky University and a master’s degree from Xavier University in Public Administration. After graduating from NKU, he worked for an international insurance broker as head of the firm’s Louisville office, helping it grow from four to 37 employees in seven years.
Recognizing a shortage of insurance services in Kentucky, John decided to launch his own company, and teamed up with Joe Lukens to start Neace Lukens in 1991. Known throughout the insurance industry as an innovator, John has been responsible for many new insurance programs designed to help companies keep pace with the changing marketplace. Today, under the chairmanship of John Neace, Neace Lukens is ranked in the top 50 largest insurance agencies in the United States, with nearly 550 employees and offices in seven states. The company is recognized for exceptional customer service and as one of the best places to work in Kentucky.
Joseph T. Lukens – President
Joe Lukens is also a native of Greater Cincinnati. Joe was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the Ohio State University and went on to receive his master of business administration from Xavier University. His introduction to the insurance industry was as an underwriter for a local insurance company. Joe has earned the industry designation Associate in Risk Management (ARM) as well as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and is a strong advocate of continuing education.
Joe has been the driving force in the expansion of the Neace organization and has been instrumental in the development of specialty programs for the healthcare industry, specifically nursing homes, group homes and assisted living facilities, which have been accessed by facilities throughout the country.
